Who are we?
We are a group of students and teachers from the National Pedagogical University of Colombia, which is recognised for its public, national and pedagogical character and focuses on the training of teachers and other educators. We are located in the city of Bogotá and our specific field of knowledge is Visual Arts. As an organic group, we are concerned about new experiences and sensitive experiences, with a diversity of beings and knowledge that dynamize and nourish our transit through the world. A group that we call Parche= plan of friends, where the relations between art and education are motivations for dialogue and creation.

The intention of this proposal is to make a preliminary understanding of the cultural diversity that characterises us as beings who coexist and inhabit a place. To recognise ourselves as glocal cultural beings, who transit the particular places of the local in tension with the global, making visible what happens in this journey and overcoming the maximised and/or minimised notion of being and being in a territory, with peculiar geographical conditions.
Robertson (1993) frames the concept by identifying how various contemporary narratives consider globalising tendencies in tension with claims of “local” culture and identity. Ideas such as global versus local, global versus “tribal”, international versus national, and universal versus particular are widely promoted. According to Wallerstein, (1991) these tensions can be taken either in the dynamic sense of a relatively progressive source of overall change or as a mode that preserves the existing global system in its current state.
