The breadth and complexity of IKIKO requires the existence and smooth functioning of a global organisational structure. It takes shape on the basis of three dimensions.

  1. General Committee: This is the brain of the event. It is made up of an international team of people, whose main objective is to ensure the soul and direction of IKIKO, to safeguard its ethical principles, to solve the organisation’s challenges and to decide anything that is not already the responsibility of one of the other dimensions of EMO. Its internal structure tries to replicate or reflect the global diversity.
  2. Venue Forum: This is a free forum of mediators. The representatives of the venues come together and meet there, discuss, share their particularities, learn from each other about their diversity in terms of cultures, challenges, etc. This experience enriches IKIKO’s organisation and influences its policy. Every site is entitled to have a representative in the forum.
  3. Civiencia SL: It is a Spanish company created in and by the University of Seville, whose aim is the democratisation of science. It is in charge of all scientific and technical aspects of the event. This involves, for example, the design and realisation of the web portal, implementing the language versions or the venue forum, organising the material repository and its browser, designing and realising the scientific journal, editing the publications of the event and organising the international level or layer.
