To make IKIKO possible and real, like the book you have just seen, we tell you the reasons for our costs, languages and privacy policy:

• Costs: one of the most important principles of IKIKO is to make it easy for anyone who wishes to participate in this multicultural, international and multilingual experience to have the opportunity to do so. This objective makes it advisable to overcome many barriers. One of them is financial insufficiency. Therefore, IKIKO must make the cost acceptable and find operational solutions between the headquarters and the general committee. At the same time, IKIKO must be viable. Both the branches and the international level cannot be realised only through the willingness of their partnerships. It is necessary to contract services and solve multiple challenges at the international level. In addition to the continuous and complex organisation of the global level of the event and the relations between the venues, IKIKO has to make costly means available:

1. A multilingual website containing everything needed to register, access the programmes, contact people, etc.
2. A store of materials in categories, which requires a specific human team that must guarantee a good experience in order to access the materials sought by means of specific software. After the congress, access to the repository will be open and free for everyone.
3. A scientific journal. This is a complex and high-level work, requiring services, software, equipment, etc.
4. Various publications, such as the book of abstracts of the contributions or the reports on the event.

• Language: we know that many languages are rapidly disappearing in the world due to the pressure for the use of hegemonic languages. At IKIKO we believe that any mother tongue should be sufficient for the goal of achieving a dignified life. Furthermore, we believe that you should be able to use your language in situations when you want or need to communicate with people of other languages without too many demands, using open and automatic means of translation and interpretation, which are not precise, but provide a minimum of success in communication. In situations where the quality of communication is important, it should be possible to use a language that does not increase the current imbalances. For this reason, at IKIKO:

1. Every participant has the opportunity to enjoy the congress in his or her own language, because he or she registers through the venue that has chosen that language.
2. Many contributions are offered in several languages, because the contributors can make them available in several languages. The translating (or mediating) staff will make the contributions they choose available in other languages. Each site has the duty to choose some of the contributions from the global level and translate them for its members.
3. In this way we try to provide a solution to all cases that may arise.
